Apparently there weren't quite enough sun-shiny-days, pools, or palms in LA for the elite stars of yesteryear—so somewhat confusingly, the nickname "Where Hollywood Plays" was earned by Palm Springs. Stars from Hollywood's Golden Age colonized early, and now with the explosion of Coachella Valley flower-crown festival-goers, and the continued love of Bluehairs everywhere, Palm Springs truly is a wacky, special place.
