Proof positive I'm a deeply sad person deep down, I've been so busy this summer it's nearly completely passed-me-by. And that makes me feel sad. Another cycle begins to close—another time around the fire. And so, the shadows lengthen. And so here, another installment of my horribly kept-up film-roundup from the past few months.

Blurred
As the road trip grinded on and on the days melted together. We went from Austin to Denver, and then Boulder briefly. Boulder to Vegas was one of the most terrifying and demanding legs of the slog, but we were so road weary it didn't even matter—barely phased us. Finally, and less one of our trio, we limped into LA.
Day 2 – Bienvenu
Hospitality, friendship, true kindness—that's what really turns around situations that could otherwise be the most major bummer. My dear bud Trevor Brown and his girlfriend Margot took us in. They cared. We were the boo boo and they where there to kiss us. Trevor is now a haberdasher, which will explain the many silly photos of us to come with our stylish new headwear. We ate po' boys. We drank in the streets. Tinder was flowing like wine.
Day 2
Grain, Leaks & Double Exposure
All the things that make shooting film hard, are the things I generally enjoy about it. Sometimes I bring out my old Minolta XG-1 and carry it all day just for a few exposures—other days none, and I just cruise. These photos are all from one roll of Ilford 400 C-41 Process that I got done at the local CVS next to my office. I force myself to do this, taking very few photos, to force myself to parse what I really enjoy, and what I absolutely don't. It helps with the self-loathing. I can take hundreds of digitals and teach myself to hate them all.
